These resources were gathered through careful research, existing community partnerships, and information shared directly by health care providers. All of the organizations listed either offer free services or provide care at a reduced cost for those without insurance.

Allegheny County Assistance

About

Individuals and families who qualify, based on household income as compared to the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines, may apply for a variety of services provided by the Pa. Department of Human Services by visiting a local Allegheny County Assistance Office, by calling and asking for an application to be sent to you in the mail, or online.

Allegheny County Health Department

About

The mission of the Allegheny County Health Department is to protect, promote, and preserve the health and well-being of all Allegheny County residents, particularly the most vulnerable.

Health Clinics

Birmingham Free Clinic

About

The Birmingham Free Clinic (BFC) was founded in 1994 through the Program for Health Care to Underserved Populations (PHCUP) with the goal of placing free, compassionate health care services within the Pittsburgh community to provide a safety net of care for homeless, uninsured, and medically indigent individuals.

Catholic Charities

About

Catholic Charities Free Health Care Center provides free, high-quality medical and dental care. They serve the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved. The eligibility criteria is solely income less than 250% of Federal Poverty guideline (independent of insurance status).

Providers treat routine issues and identify serious problems, creating treatment plans to restore health. The medical team provides comprehensive care for all patients. Dental services are available for adults

Community Health Clinic, Inc

About

The mission of the Community Health Clinic is to provide quality, affordable, comprehensive primary healthcare services across the life cycles and regardless of the ability to pay, to all residents of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, and Westmoreland Counties.

A particular emphasis is placed on the low-income, underserved, and uninsured populations.

Services are provided in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner without regard to gender, sexual orientation, religious preference, or physical ability.

East Liberty Family Health Care

About

East Liberty Family Health Care compassionately serves others by providing whole-person health care, which includes listening to needs and responding with the necessary medical, emotional, and spiritual support for those who are uninsured, under-insured and underserved.

North Side Christian Health Center

The North Side Christian Health Center (NSCHC) clinic was founded in 1993, as an anchor in Pittsburgh's economically challenged and socially depressed Northside. In 2012 NSCHC provided comprehensive primary and preventive medical and dental care to approximately 5,500 patients.

Motivated to live our Christian principles, the mission of the North Side Christian Health Center is to provide whole-person primary health care to underserved persons on the Northside and surrounding neighborhoods.

Squirrel Hill Health Center

The mission of the Squirrel Hill Health Center clinic is to provide patient-driven, high quality, comprehensive, evidence-based primary and preventive healthcare and social services, with a special concern for patients' religious beliefs, race, national origin, primary language, age, sex, and disability status and without regard for their ability to pay. SHHC applies the values and principles of the Perfecting Patient Care System to serve each patient with dignity and respect in a culturally appropriate manner and to continually assess, evaluate, and improve access to and the quality of the services it provides. SHHC strives to make its service area the healthiest community in the nation by assuring access to comprehensive health and social services across the full continuum of care.

The goal of the 9th St. Free Clinic is to provide a caring, safe place for individuals who cannot afford primary healthcare. Using volunteer professional staff, the clinic provides basic primary care services while connecting each person with appropriate human service organizations.

Dental Lifeline Network

About

The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program provides free, comprehensive dental treatment to our country's most vulnerable people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile. These are people who cannot afford necessary treatment and cannot get public aid. The program operates through a volunteer network of more than 15,000 dentists and 3,600 dental labs across the United States. Since its inception in 1985, the DDS program has transformed the lives of more than 120,000 people.

Feeding America helps those in need of food find local food banks, receive SNAP assistance when applicable, and access meal plan options, among other services.
